Scheme Outline
The scheme will give you a taste of the challenges faced within our dynamic Fresh Produce environment, and equip you with all you need to make the most of your career.
From day one you will be contributing to key business projects and will be offered a genuine opportunity to add immediate value to your team.
Criteria: Graduates will have studied an Agricultural, Horticultural, Food Crop, Science or Manufacturing related degree. In addition a second European language would be an advantage.
Duration: 2 years – commencing Summer 2012
Training: The programme consists of some formal training as well as on the job training, coaching and mentoring. Language training is also available if required to support placements and business need
Content: 4 six month work placements across the following disciplines:
- Technical/Quality Control
- Commercial/Marketing/NPD
- Manufacturing/Growing
- Buying/Procurement
Placements will either be in a job role e.g. Team Leader in Production, or project based. Example projects have included:
- Researching the Supply Chain to Bakkavör factories, reviewing new approaches and identifying potential cost savings.
- Improving the raw material growing process
Location: Placements could be at anyone of our sites in the UK and one may be in Europe depending on language skills and business requirements
Salary: £23,500 – with three additional £500 payments made on joining, on completion of year 1 and at end of scheme, plus 2 weeks B&B or rent plus reasonable removal costs
